While having solid credentials, as both improv musician & composer, Bruno Duplant
keeps confronting himself with new methods... for Impulsive Habitat, he
has shaped
a sort of kinetic musical mobile, meticulously desynchronized, where
assorted timbral
textures, short melodic vignettes, voices and selected everyday sounds
telescope in
seemingly erratic but skilfull ways.
The motion is clearly that of an absorbing whirlpool – porcelain high
tones, micro
percussive fragments, muffled, sometimes backwards speeches, & sequenced field
recordings carry us away in a kaleidoscopic nocturnal drift – like the vapor of
a dream condensing on our last glass in a remote bar,
perhaps... spiralling, and subtly
addicting...
