"Buenos 4ires" emerges as an anthropological journey, a sonic portrait of the city through its tango identity. This soundtrack accompanies the homonymous audiovisual project,
weaving together fragments of interviews, soundscapes, and music recorded in public and
private spaces across the city. The work centers on the lived experience of tango beyond the stage, inviting listeners to rediscover Buenos Aires through its characters, spaces, resonances, and silences.
This album moves beyond tango as genre or style to become a partial and fragmented
sonic collage of Buenos Aires, where tango intersects with candombe, murga, and everyday life.
Collaborations with Julián Peralta, Fer Bietti, and Pablo Martínez bring varied nuances, showing how the perception of a space shifts when heard through its different interpreters.
All recordings were made in February and March 2022 in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most recordings were made with a Sound Devices MixPre-6 II portablerecorder and a pair of DPA 4060 microphones. Some additional recordings were madewith an iPhone 11.
